Biography

Erika Gardner is Assistant General Counsel at Home Depot.

Erika Jackson Gardner currently serves as Assistant General Counsel at The Home Depot, the number one home improvement retailer in the world. Ms. Gardner is a seasoned attorney with years of litigation, risk management and insurance experience. In her role at Home Depot, Ms. Gardner manages litigation and claims in the general liability group. She supervises the department’s alternative dispute resolution program, oversees outside counsel, and manages customer litigation. Additionally, she manages the fixed fee program for her firms, analyzes data and metrics, and leads a team of legal specialists and claims supervisors. While at Home Depot, Erika has been recognized for her pro bono work with Pro Bono Partnerships and with Street Law.  

Prior to her role at Home Depot, Erika worked as Assistant Claims Manager for RLI Transportation, a division of RLI Insurance. She also worked as a litigator with the firm of Thomas, Kennedy, Sampson & Patterson, specifically in the areas of premises liability and medical malpractice. Ms. Gardner is a magna cum laude graduate of Spelman College where she earned a B.A. degree in English. She is also a graduate of Emory University School of Law where she served as a managing editor of the Emory International Law Review.
