The Open Society Institute (OSI) Street Law Network Program

Providing Programs about Law, Democracy, and Human Rights for 15 Countries

 
The OSI Street Law Network Program supports programs in civic and law-related education in Eastern and Central Europe, the newly independent states (NIS), and Mongolia. These programs strengthen the ability of young people to contribute to the common good and to civic society as well-educated, well-prepared citizens.

The OSI Street Law Network Program helps eductors, lawyers, and non-governmental organization (NGO) leaders develop curricula that educates students on the daily applicability of the principles of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. The following countries participate in the program:

 

The Ford Foundation is also providing support to Street Law, Inc.'s efforts in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and St. Petersburg, Russia. Organizations and individuals are receiving technical assistance and training which will facilitate the development and instititutionalization of new Street Law programs.
