STREET LAW PROJECT COMPONENTS:

• SECONDARY PROGRAM
  The constitutional law text, We and Law, (3600) and corresponding teacher's manual (240) have been published, distributed and approved for use in all schools by the Ministry of Education. The book is available in Russian and Kyrgyz. A second book is currently being written on criminal law.
  
  
• TEACHER TRAINING
  Teacher trainers (10) have trained classroom teachers (220), educational administrators (6), representatives from the Ministry of Justice (2) and the Ministry of Education (6) as well as chiefs of regional governmental structures (21). Teachers from the Critical Thinking program (6) have also participated in training seminars. Law students (28) and recently graduated law students (35) have been trained to work with teachers and other community resource people in classrooms throughout the country. On-going professional development in educational theory and training includes a Trainers' Team of the Public Fund who systematically participates in different seminars on Trainers' skills improvement and civil education courses. Moreover the program has built a partnership with the Critical Thinking and School Parliament programs. Using the base resource materials of other organization, it have also developed its own resource base on methodology of working on civil education.



• STREET LAW/POLICE IN THE CLASSROOM
  Police officers (20) have been trained to work with teachers and law students in the classroom.
