STREET LAW PROJECT COMPONENTS:

  • SECONDARY PROGRAM
    This project has published three different student texts. These textbooks, along with the teacher manuals, have been approved by the Ministry of Education to be used in the Kazakh and Russian schools throughout Kazakhstan. Human Rights for All is available in both Russian and Kazakh. Democracy for All and Mosaic of Law and Democracy are available in Russian. The project has published and distributed student manuals (1500) and teacher's manuals (500) of Human Rights for All. The project has also published, but not yet distributed, student texts (1000) and teacher's manuals (300) of Democracy for All. In addition, the project has published, but not yet distributed, student texts (1000) and teacher's manuals (300) of Mosaic of Law and Democracy.

  • TEACHER TRAINING
    Teacher trainers (15) have trained teachers (800) throughout the country.

  • LAW SCHOOL CLINIC
    The clinic has been running for over two years. Each year, law students (total of 40) work in pairs in classrooms with Street Law trained teachers. This law school clinic has introduced the program to other law schools (4) in Kazakhstan.

  • STREET LAW/POLICE IN THE CLASSROOM
    Police officers (60) have been trained to work in classrooms with Street Law trained teachers and law students.
