Indonesia Indonesia's democratic transition while successfully underway is only partially complete. Street Law, Inc. played a key role in efforts to address civil society needs in the fledgling democracy through its involvement in a USAID-funded assessment of the state of civic education in Indonesia. The assessment was conducted a year after the 1999 democratic elections were held. The Street Law team traveled throughout Indonesia interviewing key actors and representatives of over 70 Indonesian NGOs and civil society organizations. Their experiences provided critical information on civic education needs, challenges and opportunities facing Indonesia today.
