GE’s Peter J. Muñiz Joins Street Law

Street Law, Inc. is proud to announce the election of GE’s Peter J. Muñiz to its board of directors.

Peter has been part of the legal department at General Electric Company for nearly two decades and currently serves as Vice President and General Counsel of GE Commercial Distribution Finance—the leading North American provider of inventory financing solutions, as well as Managing Director for Chicago Business Development—where he leads GE’s efforts to bring 1,000 jobs to Chicago.

Peter participated in GE’s Street Law Legal Diversity Pipeline Program in Chicago, where legal department volunteers teach high school students about civil law and encourage them to consider careers in the legal profession. He co-leads the GE Legal Diversity and Inclusion Council and is a business champion for Developing Health Chicago—GE’s multi-year $50 million national program providing grant funding and GE volunteer support to non-profit health centers to increase access to primary care. Peter has also held leadership positions in GE’s Global Asset Management, Equity, and Rail Services divisions.

“Street Law is extremely pleased to welcome Peter to our board of directors,” said Lee Arbetman, Street Law, Inc.’s executive director. “Peter joins the board as a Street Law veteran and a respected leader in diversity and inclusion initiatives. GE and Street Law have already developed a series of popular and powerful diversity pipeline programs in the United States. Peter’s involvement will help us sustain these programs, expand to new U.S. sites, and take the next step together—development of GE/Street Law partnership programs around the world.”
