We’re excited to welcome nine new or expanded diversity pipeline program sites this fall! SunAmerica (AIG) is joining us in Los Angeles for their first year in the program. Wellpoint is expanding their project to include Northern Virginia, CSC is expanding to South Carolina, and Verizon is adding a program in Atlanta. Nationwide and AT&T are both adding two locations this fall—Des Moines and Scottsdale for Nationwide, and San Francisco and Austin for AT&T. GE’s program in Connecticut is being reinvigorated, while their Atlanta project is adding lawyers from Sutherland Asbill & Brennan and expanding to four classes of high school students. Allstate is adding their 15th city to the program: Detroit!
We look forward to reaching more students than ever this year. We’d love to hear about everyone’s activities – so email Charlotte Friar, program coordinator, if you have updates to share. Also contact Charlotte if there’s any support that Street Law can provide to you this fall.
The Law School Admission Council publishes a great website for young people that are interested in going to law school: www.discoverlaw.org. There’s information about different types of lawyers, getting into and paying for law school, and tips on what to do in high school and college to prepare for law school. We recommend that you share this resource with your partner students.
