In Decker v. the Metro City Police Department, a police officer shoots a pit bull whose owner witnessed a dispute between the officer and a civilian. The dog's owner accuses the police department of violating her First and Fourth Amendment rights and sues for damages.

This trial was developed by the DC Street Law Clinic at Georgetown University Law Center. It was used in the 2012 citywide mock trial competition in Washington, DC.
