$100 registration fee (due two weeks after you are accepted) includes all materials and several meals.
Housing for participants will be available at the Washington Court on the nights of July 8, 9, and 10. Hotel costs will be covered by Street Law.
A select number of rooms are available for an additional night to accommodate participants with early morning transportation needs. Please contact Janae Harrison for more information.
Travel will be reimbursed up to $500. This includes by plane, train, or automobile (mileage and parking).
Participants who conduct trainings for other teachers or develop and teach a civil rights lesson to their students after completing the Institute are eligible to receive a stipend of $150.
Opportunities for Continuing Education Credit
Upon completion of the Institute, each participant receives a certificate verifying the number of contact hours completed (exact number of hours TBD). Your participation may count toward continuing education/ professional development hours. However, requirements vary by school district. Please check with your district to see if the Civic & Civil Rights Institute satisfies the eligibility requirements.
