Background

Street Law, Inc.—in partnership with the U.S. Department of State's Office of Public Diplomacy (currently called Educational and Cultural Affairs) in Port-au-Prince, and a team of Haitian curriculum writers—developed a French language civic education curriculum for use in secondary schools in Haiti.  This curriculum—Democratie Pour Tous— teaches the basic principles of democracy and human rights using interactive and participatory methods of teaching.  Teachers in secondary schools across Haiti were trained to use the text in their classrooms.

Haitian adaptation of Democracy for All.

Later, Street Law trained the National Democratic Institute (NDI) to conduct workshops on Democratie Pour Tous throughout Haiti.
