Over 40 years of educating about law, democracy, and human rights
August 15, 2011
In July 2011, the new federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) opened. Created in 2010 by the Dodd-Frank Act, the CFPB will be responsible for implementing and enforcing federal financial protection laws, taking consumer complaints, restricting unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices, and educating the public.
To highlight this new agency and the ongoing political debate about its scope and function, Street Law is providing a collection of resources on teaching about personal finance law.
These lessons were written by Chambliss Bahner & Stophel and BlueCross BlueShield of TN for the ACC/Street Law Legal Diversity Pipeline Program and edited by Street Law, Inc.)
