Vlad Spanu is a consultant for Street Law.

He is an experienced instructor, diplomat, and entrepreneur and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with industry expertise in government, consumer products, higher education, eMedia, and nonprofit management. His expertise includes strategic planning, operations, management, and cross-cultural communications.

He was a senior Moldovan diplomat  between 1992 and 2001. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he worked in the private sector for seven years.

Since 2004, Vlad has served as a consultant for a variety of organizations; managed projects and grants in the Washington, DC area; and authored and co-authored books, research papers, and policy briefs. His work includes fundraising, program/project management, and strategic development for organizations, while his research focuses on democratization, conflict resolution, and international trade.

Vlad is passionate about the role of civil society in countries undergoing political transitions, including understanding how non-profit organizations build constituencies, attract funding sources, and position themselves within society in order to have a positive impact.

Additionally, Vlad teaches at the College of Business at Bellevue University in Nebraska.

He is a graduate of Harvard University (MPA, Edward S. Mason fellow in Public Policy and Management), Romanian National School of Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest (M.S. in public administration), and Moldova State University (B.S. in economics).
