Stephanie Doane teaches humanities/social studies and AP U.S. History at Casco Bay High School in Portland, Maine. Casco Bay High School is part of the Expeditionary Learning network of schools and has grown into a nationally recognized high school for its innovative curriculum and academic achievement of its diverse student body. 

She is on a one-year sabbatical leave to work with Street Law as a teacher-in-residence. 

In 2003, Stephanie was awarded the James Madison Memorial Fellowship for Constitutional Studies for Maine, and in 2006 she completed her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in constitutional studies. Stephanie attended Street Law’s 2005 Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers. 

Stephanie has been actively involved in the facilitation of social studies professional development, specifically as a Master Teacher in the Teaching American History Through Biography program and as a Choices Curriculum Fellow. Most recently Stephanie has been diving into the world of technology integration in the social studies classroom as a Maine Leadership Technology Initiative (MLTI) Teacher Leader, supporting other school staff in the use of technology in the classroom.
