Vulnerable and At-Risk Youth

Practical legal education is especially valuable to young parents, youth in the juvenile justice system, youth aging out of foster care, and other vulnerable populations. Street Law specializes in programs and curricula that educate at-risk youth about their rights and responsibilities under the law.

April 1, 2005 Shortly after a high school student boarded a bus in Washington, D.C., in November 2003, police officers came after him with their guns drawn. Terence didn't look like the suspect who had just robbed a nearby pharmacy, the officers acknowledged. But he was the only black man on the bus. That was reason enough to take him in for questioning.
