Background

Preparatoria Universidad La Salle was founded by the Christian Brothers in 1931 as the Colegio Frances de La Salle.  On February 15, 1962, the University opened its doors to 1,200 students at its present location as the Preparatoria School for Univeridad La Salle.

The prep school is accredited through the National University of Mexico (UNAM) and is highly ranked academically.  Instruction is in Spanish, but English as a Second Language is required and optional French is offered.  The curriculum provides preparation necessary for university studies in all professional areas.  La Salle Prep is known for its well-rounded formation, social commitment, and service.

Preparatoria Universidad La Salle, the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago, and the Learning Law and Democracy Foundation are all working together to implement topics of deliberation in the classrooms of Mexico City, Mexico; Chicago, Illinois; and Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
