Julia Alanen

Julia is an attorney who has practiced and taught international law, immigration and family law, and child advocacy in the U.S. and abroad. She has testified as an expert before courts and legislative committees, and regularly guest lectures at The George Washington University Law School. As a litigator, Julia represented victims of international parental kidnapping, gender-based violence and human trafficking. She has worked extensively with law firms and corporate in-house legal departments in the U.S. and around the world. Julia holds a Master of International Service degree from American University, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, and a Legum Magistra (LL.M.) degree specializing in International Human Rights and Gender from the Washington College of Law.
