Dr. Barbara A. Perry was the 1994-95 judicial fellow at the Supreme Court of the United States.  She is currently the Carter Glass Professor of Government at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, where she has also served as a pre-law advisor and intern coordinator.  She is the founding director of the Virginia Law-Related Education Center.  In 2006-07, she is serving as senior fellow at the University of Louisville's McConnell Center.  Her publications include articles in the Journal of Supreme Court History, Journal of Church and State, the Journal of Law and Politics, and the Albany Law Review.  Her books include A "Representative" Supreme Court? The Impact of Race, Religion, and Gender on Appointments; The Priestly Tribe: The Supreme Court's Image in the American Mind, and "The Supremes": Essays on the Current Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States.  She is co-author, with Henry J. Abraham, of the eighth edition of Freedom and the Court: Civil Rights and Liberties in the United States.  Professor Perry holds a B.A. in political science, M.A. in politics, philosophy and economics, and Ph.D. in American government.
