2010 Supreme Court Week Lesson Plan Contest

Street Law, Inc. invites all classroom teachers, law student/attorney instructors, or other educators to submit Supreme Court-focused lesson plans to the Supreme Court Week Lesson Plan Contest. 

Lessons should be appropriate for secondary (middle or high school) students and focused on the functions or operations of the U.S. Supreme Court or on a U.S. Supreme Court case.  Entries will be judged on clarity, use of interactive strategies and methods, and usefulness. 

Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, September 29, 2010.

2010 Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers

June 17-22, 2010 Washington, DC

Since it began in 1995, the Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers has brought together over 800 teachers from across the country to convene in Washington, D.C., for six days of educational activities related to teaching about the U.S. Supreme Court.  The Institute is co-sponsored by the Supreme Court Historical Society.

MCPS - Teacher Training Institute

June 18-19, 2009 Rockville, MD

This training is for high school teachers in Montgomery County (MD) Public Schools seeking to improve their teaching of law.  Participants will meet area lawyers and receive interactive lesson plans and materials developed by Street Law, Inc. to help students learn about the judiciary, rights and responsibilities, historic landmark cases of the Supreme Court, and practical law.
