Using Deliberation in the Classroom: South Carolina

A seminar for South Carolina social studies teachers on using deliberation in the classroom will be held at Springmaid Beach Resort & Conference Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Participants will receive the following:

  • training in the facilitation of effective deliberations
  • lesson plans and supplemental materials
  • use of international poll on deliberation questions
  • networking opportunities with others in the field of international civics education from the U.S. and abroad

2009 Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers

June 25-30, 2009 Washington, DC

Since it began in 1995, the Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers has brought together over 700 teachers from across the country to convene in Washington, D.C., for six days of educational activities related to teaching about the U.S. Supreme Court.  The Institute is co-sponsored by the Supreme Court Historical Society.
